Laminated Peppercorn Funnel

The old saying that necessity is the mother of invention applies to this product. Being a user of my own peppermills, I quickly learned that the biggest challenge in their use was filling them. I got tired of the peppercorns bouncing all over the counter and onto the floor, so I went to the shop and made a funnel out of some leftover wood. It works really well for the peppermills that I make, but also works for filling spice bottles. This one is made from multiple contrasting hardwoods and is finished with walnut oil.

NOTE: With time and with use the finish on wooden items may become dry. You will know this has occurred when the wooden item looks or feels dry. If this occurs the item can be rubbed with walnut oil or salad oil - if it is to be used with food. If it is a decorative item, an application of a coat of good wax should help. If the wooden item becomes soiled, wipe it with a damp cloth and dry immediately. NEVER put a wooden item in a dishwasher. This would promptly ruin the item.

It works really well for the salt mills and the peppermills that I make, but also works for filling spice bottles. These are made from various species of wood and will differ in appearance from the one pictured.  Each is finished with walnut oil. One of these funnels is provided with each peppermill or salt mill purchased, but are also available for purchase individually as well. NOTE: The actual funnel that will be shipped will vary in appearance from the one pictured on the website.
