It has remarkable grain pattern with some spalting and a decorative appearing streak on one side created by a branch in that part of the wood which adds character to the bowl. It has been finished with Friction polish, a finish which makes it safe for use with food. This bowl would make a nice small serving bowl, but would also be useful for many things around the home.
