The grinding mechanism is an American made stainless steel mechanism and is adjustable by varying the tension on the top nut of the peppermill. The finish is food safe and durable.
Note that a peppercorn funnel is included with all peppermills.

This peppermill is unique in that it is black mesquite which is not a common hardwood. The wood has a small defect in it that was filled with a turquoise colored inlay material. The appearance is beautiful. It was turned from a solid block of black mesquite, finished with a friction polish, and then fitted with a high quality American made grinding mechanism which will last for years. Note that a peppercorn funnel is included with all peppermills.

Note that Spanish Cedar is commonly used for humidors and has a very distinct pleasant aroma.
