This beautiful lidded bowl was made from a block of Myrtlewood. The knob on the lid was made from ebony. The myrtle wood has remarkable grain pattern with some spalting which adds character to the bowl. It has been finished with Friction polish, a finish which makes it safe for use with food. This bowl is decorative, but would come in handy around the home for storage. The finish is food safe, so it could be used for food

NOTE: With time and with use the finish on wooden items may become dry. You will know this has occurred when the wooden item looks or feels dry. If this occurs the item can be rubbed with walnut oil or salad oil - if it is to be used with food. If it is a decorative item, an application of a coat of good wax should help. If the wooden item becomes soiled, wipe it with a damp cloth and dry immediately. NEVER put a wooden item in a dishwasher. This would promptly ruin the item.
